Universal Remote Terms of Use

Applies to the Universal Remote app for iPhone, iPad and Android. Effective date: 27 September 2026.

These terms govern your use of the Universal Remote app (the "app"), published by Invikta Technology ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.

1. The app

The app lets you control compatible smart TVs and streaming devices on your local Wi-Fi network from your phone or tablet: remote buttons, keyboard, touchpad, voice search, app shortcuts, casting and switching compatible TVs on. Your device and your TV must be on the same network, and some TVs ask you to allow the connection the first time.

Features depend on your TV model, its software and settings, and your network. We test the app on many TVs but can't guarantee that every feature works with every model. The free version lets you try the remote with some limits; Pro unlocks the features listed in the app.

2. Pro subscription

3. Acceptable use

Use the app only to control devices you own or are allowed to use, and in line with the law. Don't reverse engineer, resell or misuse the app, interfere with other people's devices or networks, or try to get Pro features without paying.

4. Trademarks and independence

Universal Remote is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any TV, streaming device or streaming service company. Names and logos of TVs and apps are shown only to identify them and belong to their respective owners.

5. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles and why.

6. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. This doesn't limit liability for death, personal injury, fraud or anything else that can't be limited by law.

8. Changes and termination

We may update the app and these terms. If we change the terms in an important way, we will give notice in the app or on this page; continuing to use the app means you accept the new terms. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it and cancelling your subscription. We may end access if you seriously breach these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Invikta Technology is established, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
